 2nd Annual Cypress Get Fit Contest

Mark your calendars  for Saturday January 12,2008  the weigh in for the Cypress Get Fit Contest will be at LA Fitness off of 290 and Barker Cypress.  This contest is free and is open to all My Cypress Directory Members.  The prize packages will be announced within the next few weeks.     At the weigh in we will have personal trainers and nutrition  consultants on hand to help answer any questions.    We have an entire section of our website full of   tips and other support for you  during the contest.   Also take advantage of the Cypress Get Fit Club forum to find workout buddies and support from other members.   Be sure to keep checking back for more details.

 The winner will be determined by the person with the largest percentage of weight loss between January 12th and March 15th.

Healthy Eating Habits

Avoid or limit:

  • Foods containing hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated fats

  • Foods containing high-fructose corn syrup or high amounts of other sugars

  • Sodas and other sweetened drinks (sugar or diet)

  • Foods containing refined grains (such as enriched flours, starches or hydrolyzed grain products)

  • Most boxed or bagged snack foods, desserts, "instant" prepared foods, "diet" foods, and foods with added flavors, colors or preservatives.

Eat lots of:

  • A wide variety of colorful fruits, vegetables and other plant-based whole  foods, especially...dark, leafy greens, fresh or frozen berries, raw nuts and seeds, beans and legumes

  • Organic, wild or free range poultry, meats and fish

  • Omega-3 eggs
